Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we should dance!

Hello Fans! It’s been such a hectic time here at the studio dealing with the summer holiday timetables, equipment upgrades and balancing our year end books. It’s also the time we break open the piggy bank on top of our fridge to distribute our bonus. HMMMM, not sure what happened to piggy’s backside but think we have enough buy a pizza!!!! So much for a bonus this year! But on a positive note, we don't know what we've got if we never had it, and don't know what we've been missing if it never arrives. LOL. What we did know was our July 16 2011 show got crackin with some 12” specials by France Joli “gonna get over you,” Kleeers “running back to you,” Blank & Jones “miracle man” featuring Cathy Battistessa, and “summer time” with B Magic featuring Michael Thomas.

Dance always cheers you up after a bad day!

As most of you know I host many live outdoor events and must say this heat wave certainly has gotten the best of me. I’m always conscious of my appearance and for as long as I can remember, perspiration stains have always haunted me even after trying almost every spray and stick on the market. Sure, some say a colonic irrigation will cleanse me and others suggest a diet change. Well Fans, I have recently learned spraying apple cider vinegar on your whole body does work! Trust me, getting a little skin rash is far better than looking like a wet noodle on stage! Speaking sizzling, our July 14 2001 got started with Linda Cliffords “runaway love,” The Michael Zager Bands “love express,” Mike & Brenda Buttons “we’ll make it,” Curtis Mayfields “tell me,” Cheryl Lynns “love bomb,” and The Reddings “in my pants.” This week’s recycled combo was Class Actions “weekend” with a remake by Phreeks.

Every day brings a chance for you to draw in a breath, kick off your shoes, and dance.

Wow, what a neat day to kick off my show on July 7 2011 knowing that on this very same day back in 1985, "Playboy" and "Penthouse" magazines went on sale with nude pictures of Madonna. Unfortunately my Mom didn’t permit such smut in her house back then. Needless to say that year my Dad bought me the 32 page full color comic book, featuring the story of Madonna told in a graphic novel style for my Birthday. He told me years later the superb glossy cartoons reminded him Wonder Woman. Right on Dad! Speaking of superb, our show got started with Masterpieces “i can’t wait,” First Love “can i be with you tonight,” Rose Royce “do your dance” and The Gap Bands “outstanding”. This weeks recycled tracks were by The Jackson's with “show you the way,” followed by the remake done by Smooth Sy Smith.

Dancing will keep you asking for more and more!

Happy Canada Day! It’s a small world when you run across your grade school sweet heart after some 40+ years on the internet. Wow, Evelyn still recalled that first innocent kiss on the cheek and using her easy bake light bulb oven to make me silly puddy tarts. Well I have always believed we meet up with people again for a reason and it wasn’t till I looked up what them gooey tarts were made of. 65% Dimethyl Siloxane, 17% Silica, 4% Polydimethylsiloxane, 9% Thixotrol ST, 1% Decamethyl Cyclopentasiloxane, 1% Glycerine and 1% Titanium Dioxide. Ok, no hard feelings, as if it was worthy of accompanying the Apollo 8 Astronauts into space for testing, it was good enough for my stomach back then.

Dance like there was no tomorrow!

Recently I learned that herbs brought me closer to nature and allowed me to understand better how they influenced my body. This all got started as I was cutting the studio lawn and noticed 1,000’s upon 1,000’s of dandelions. It seems that dandelion leaves and roots have been used for centuries to treat the liver, gall bladder, kidneys, and joint problems. Well folks, a word of advice, don’t make tea from the flowers unless you really need a fast acting laxative and plan on staying home the whole weekend. Needless to say I stood for my entire June 30 2011 show starting off with Tony Worrels “everything you do,” Lillo Thomas “let me be yours,” and First Choice’s “great expectations.” This weeks recycled tracks were by Candi Staton performing “young hearts run free”, followed with Nana McLean’s baby bollox remix.

Dance is a delicate balance between perfection and beauty

Yeah, its BBQ time and thought I would share 5 of my most important lessons learned at our recent studio party. 1. Never transport a propane tank on your motorcycle. 2. Never check for leaks with your lighter. 3. Never use gasoline as an accelerant if the igniter doesn’t work. 4. Never move the barbecue indoors if it starts raining. 5. Never wear loose nylon clothing while cooking. I’ll spare you the hazardous facts why one should never baste the meats and poultry with flammable spirits! Moving into our smokin show of June 18 2011, the turntables got fired up with Dr.

To watch us dance is to hear our hearts speak

Cheers to all our guests and funky golfers which tuned in during our June 4 2011 show. Pardon me for not saying much in the chat, but the terms “Mulligan” and “Whiff” sure sounded like fish stories to me. And just to set the facts straight, on this very date in the 1984, Arnold Palmer failed to make the cut at the U.S. Open golf tournament for the first time in 32 year. So put that in your hookah ball washer! Moving right along to the evening’s lineup we spun a new track by Bickley Rivera performing “chillin' after five, wow, what topper that was! Into the chat box requests came in for Khemistrys “who's fooling who,” Afterbachs “ladies of the 80's,” The Chocolate Jam Co.

Dance….shake it 'til the moon becomes the sun

Howdy! I am not sure if any listeners have noticed, but the creepy crawly population seems to have sky rocketed out of control this year. Their just everywhere in our studio! So down to the local military surplus I went and bought a dozen of them plug-in “Sonic Busters” which emit ultrasonic and electromagnetic waves. Hey, if the defense department used them in the fifties for mind control, I feel confident these new gizmo’s will have them pests dancing a whole new groove around here. Getting on with our June 2 2011’s musictivity, requests started rolling in early from Bombay, Mexico City, Copenhagen and Winnipeg for Bobby Mardis “keep on,” The Emotions “i don't wanna lose your love,” and “heart breaker” by Leroy Burgess.

The dance is a poem of which each movement is a word

Cheers! I am absolutely amazed at all the new colorful postage stamps which are issued this time of the year. What about them new funky looking public mailboxes on all the street corners? WOW, not to mention them psychic snail mail creatures having the ability to send bills at twice the speed of cheques to our studio. Honestly, how do they do it? Speaking of deliveries, my May 26 2011 show took off with Melba Moore “keeping my lover,” Lillo Thomas “let me be yours,” Lakesides “outrageous,” and Second Image “lights out”. My recycled dance classic this week was “midas touch” sung by Midnight Star, joined with the CFCF remix. For the funky listeners tuning in from New York City we sent out “rock with you” by Michael Jackson and David Bowie. This weeks hold each other tight track was “close to you” by BT Express. Requests came in from Greenland, Turks and Caicos, Greece, and Morocco for Shannons “urgent,” Rick James “17,” LTDs “back in love,” and “everything you do” by Tony Worrell.

Even when you think you're safe, dance will find you!

Hello Gang! Did you know you're born with 300 bones, but when you get to be an adult, you only have 206? Well that’s what the wall poster said in the examination room while the doctor was taking my blood pressure. And I thought me falling down more frequently was because I was less tolerant to alcohol as age set in! What a relief knowing this fact as my May 14 2011 live broadcast got underway with the likes of Toney Lees “night lights,” Rose Royce “love me right now,” The SOS Bands “groovin,” and Bernice Watkins “let's call it a day.” This weeks top five requests were Evelyn Kings “love come down,” Sister Sledge “he's the greatest dancer,” B.B. & Q. Bands “six million times,” Billy Oceans “love zone,” and Annette Taylors “it must be right.” My 12” vinyl spins were Hypertensions “got this feelin,” and Spandau Ballets “i'll fly for you.” WOW, lots of new listeners this show tuning in from Istanbul, Philadelphia, Beijing, and Toronto.
