Simon Clarke "A Touch of Class"
- in the Ottawa area
- a solo act featuring multi-instrumentalist Simon Clarke, ex-band member of Freddie and the Dreamers, world-famous British Invasion 60's band with such international hits as "I'm telling you now" and "You were made for me". He was Freddie’s musical director and keyboard player from 1995 - 2000 when Freddie finally decided to retire.
- Simon emigrated to Canada from the UK in 2003 but still keeps his musical roots firmly in the era of the British Invasion of the 60's and the 70’s. Enjoy this trip down memory lane with great songs from that period (Beatles, Kinks, Herman's Hermits and many more…) plus other music legends such as Roy Orbison, CCR and Elton John to name but a few. Funtime, foot-tapping 50 / 60 / 70’s nostalgia from slow ballads to "up tempo" floor-show numbers featuring live playing of guitar, keyboard, mouth organ, saxophone and vocals supported by professional-level backing tracks to give a full-band sound. Dance the night away or just sit back and listen – the choice is yours!
- This act is extremely versatile and can accommodate the smaller, more intimate area through to larger venues. The music is timeless and appeals to all age groups from the young to the “young at heart”. Simon was recently on Majic 100 radio for the Sunday morning oldies show to talk about his time spent as a Dreamer.
