Jive is a dance of International Style Ballroom dancing. It initially was based on Eastern swing brought to England by Americans Troops in World War II and evolved further in Europe before becoming the now standardized form of today.

It is based on a triple swing, and contains the outstretched flamboyant arm movements typical of performance ballroom dancing.
